All-on-4® treatment concept

All on 4 Dental Implants in Upland & Rancho Cucamonga

The All-on-4® treatment concept was developed to help patients losing all their teeth or those already without teeth to rapidly regain a fully-functional mouth and jaw. It is a procedure that uses the fewest implants possible, avoids bone graft surgery, and provides high-quality restorative results in the shortest time possible.

Fewer implants mean lower cost. While most cases can be performed with only 4 implants, upper jaw treatment may involve 6 implants (All-on-6). The use of angled implant placement allows us to avoid anatomical areas that previously required bone grafting. Eliminating the need for bone grafting saves months in healing and thousands of dollars. As compared to the Teeth in an Hour™ procedure, there is no waiting for the surgical guide to be made. We could perform surgery on Monday and place teeth the same day if you wish. The All-on-4® treatment concept saves time and money and we are excited to make this option available to our patients.

Advantages of the All-on-4® treatment concept

Providing the highest quality teeth replacement in the shortest amount of time – without bone grafts!

All-on-4® treatment concept Dental Implants

The traditional All-on-4® treatment concept dental implant procedure uses four implants, with the back implants placed at an angle to take maximum advantage of the existing bone. Along with your Restorative Dentist, Dr. Gilbert and his skilled staff can facilitate your treatment where you leave the same day with fixed, non-removable teeth.

Traditional approaches to restoring a full arch of teeth usually involved complex bone grafts, six or more implants, and up to 18 months of treatment. A patient would often be without teeth, or with ill-fitting temporary dentures for more than a year.

The All-on-4® treatment concept involves two or four consultation visits to the office, to allow Dr. Gilbertand Restorative Dentist to gather information for a treatment plan (e.g., CAT Scan, X-rays, impressions, photographs, etc.). Following your consultation, you are scheduled for placement of the implants and the new teeth are fitted and adjusted, all in one appointment (even when extractions are necessary).

Patients come to the office in the morning with unhealthy teeth (or none at all), and leave in the afternoon with a beautiful set of fixed, beautiful, functional teeth!

After almost six months, when the gums have fully healed and the implants are fused to the natural bone, your Restorative Dentist will take new impressions of your mouth and prepare a final, stronger, permanent set of teeth adjusted to a perfect fit this is all included in the initial fee. This helps ensure that your new teeth will last for decades, and provide maximum support, beauty, and function.

What to Expect During Your All-on-4® treatment concept Dental Implants Procedure

You could have a brand new smile in one day, with an All-on-4® treatment concept dental implants procedure.

While every patient is different, here is a general guideline of what to expect during your All-on-4® treatment concept dental implants procedure.

The first thing to remember when getting All-on-4® treatment concept dental implants is that you are doing this to look and feel better…try not to worry. Dr. Gilbert and his team are highly skilled with dental implant procedures and strive to make this a positive and easy experience for you.

Before Your Dental Implant Procedure

Before the procedure, Dr. Gilbert will take X-rays or a 3D CAT SCAN, if needed, and perform an exam to determine if you are a candidate for dental implants and the recommended treatment. If you are a candidate for All-on-4® treatment concept dental implants, Dr. Gilbert will then thoroughly explain the procedure, answer any questions and address concerns you may have. Your appointment will be made to place your implants and new teeth.

During Your Dental Implant Procedure

When you arrive at your appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Once you are placed in your surgical suite, your conscious sedation or general anesthesia (if indicated) will begin. After your sedation has taken effect, your procedure will begin by extracting any remaining teeth and preparing your mouth for the implants. Dr. Gilbert will place the implants, the first step to your new smile. After the implants have been placed, our restorative dentist will begin the fabrication of your new teeth.

Once your new set of teeth is placed, Dr. Gilbert will check your bite and ensure the accuracy of the placement. At this time, you will be able to look in the mirror and admire your beautiful new smile. This is an emotionally rewarding experience that often brings tears to our patients’ eyes and ours as well.

After Your Dental Implant Procedure

Dr. Gilbert will review your post-procedure care with you and discuss what will be coming up in your future follow-up appointments. Recovery is minimal and you may even be able to return to work the next day. In about six months, after the dental implants have fully integrated with the bone, it will be time to remove your temporary set of teeth and place your new set of permanent teeth. This is extremely easy and virtually painless; requiring only the removal of four discreetly placed screws. If any alterations from the initial, temporary teeth are required, they will be discussed and planned at this time.
