Important Information Regarding COVID-19
Date of publication: 06/21/2021
Greetings and well wishes to all
At this time, we (as a healthcare practice) will continue to wear masks and follow our existing “Covid protocol” in our office.
However, as far as California is concerned, we understand the following,
- If a patient is fully vaccinated, masks are not required in any of our indoor or outdoor spaces.
- If a patient is not fully vaccinated, state guidelines require the use of masks in all indoor spaces.
As such:
- If a patient chooses not to wear a mask while indoors or when entering our practice, we will interpret this as the individual self-attesting that they are vaccinated.
- We do not mandate patients to wear masks but kindly ask patients to use their best judgment as a courtesy to others given their risk profile.
- At this time, all our employees will still be required to wear masks while indoors and use our existing PPE protocol.
- We will continue to take full infection control, air quality, and PPE measures as an accredited healthcare facility and provider.
- We will continue our current registration and reception protocol as we would like to recognize that some patients will be sensitive to the issue and not be comfortable being around other unmasked patients.
- We will still avoid having multiple patients in our waiting room till further notice.
Feel free to read our past updates to learn more about the infection-control infra-structure and technology in our facility.
We look forward to seeing you soon and providing you with the ultimate patient experience.

Greetings and well wishes to all
As we start seeing patients again, you can expect we will screen all patients and those accompanying you to our practice. Our purpose is not to encumber you with inconvenience, but assure you of our stringent protocols to keep you and our staff safe at all times.
You should expect to be asked and see the following questions and information on your registration forms prior to arriving in our facility.
COVID screening:
- Have you been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days; or,
- Do you have or been exposed to someone with
- a cough, shortness of breath
- unexplained fever (≥100.4º F) or chills
- muscle pain, headache
- sore throat
- new loss of taste or smell within the prior two weeks.
- Have you/they traveled in the past 14 days to any regions affected by COVID-19?
Note: For persons with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, we ask that you wait at least 10-14 days until after all symptoms have resolved before scheduling your appointment.>
People with COVID-19 who have ended home isolation can receive emergency dental care. This is decided using two strategies: a non-test-based strategy and a test-based-strategy:
- Non-test-based-strategy: At least 10-14 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
- Test-based-strategy:
- Negative results of an FDA Emergency Use Authorized molecular assay for COVID-19 from at least two consecutive upper respiratory swab specimens collected ≥24 hours apart (total of two negative specimens).
- Persons with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 who have not had any symptoms: At least 10 days have passed since the date of the first positive COVID-19 viral test and have had no subsequent illness.
Our existing protocols remain:
- We kindly request that you complete your registration online prior to arriving.
- We kindly ask your driver to wait in the car if possible, to maximize social distancing.
- Since it has been quite warm lately, we will allow your driver (one person at any time) in our reception room.
- We have separate discharge waiting areas which allow us to comfortably accommodate those waiting on you.
- Minors may be accompanied by a single legal adult guardian.
- On entrance, you and your driver/guardian will have your temperature screened with a no-touch device.
- On entrance, you will be asked to use a hand-sanitizer and given a personal mask and gloves to wear during your visit with us.
Feel free to read our past updates to learn more about the infection-control infra-structure and technology in our facility.
